Donna Freyer: Custom Care Equine
Born in New York, renowned Camden South Carolina horse trainer Donna Freyer of Custom Care Equine has had a love of horses since before the age of 5. After completing her higher educational studies at Dartmouth College, Donna relocated to Camden after 10 years at Tanrackin Farm. Donna founded the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation of South Carolina with horseman Kip Elser, and has started the South Carolina residency races for horses that have spent 90 days training in S.C. As the VP of the SC Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders group, Donna is committed to “highlight the horse industry in the state”.

Kevin Kahkola
With almost 30 years of experience in breaking and training thoroughbreds, Kevin Kahkola of Kahkola Racing brings experience and skill to the Camden Training Center team. Kevin has worked with some of the most prolific horses to come from previous CTC owner Will Farish’s Lane’s End Farm, including Mineshaft (2003 horse of the year), Secret Status (winner of the 2000 Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs and Mother Goose Stakes at Belmont), and numerous other graded stakes winners such as RunUp The Colors, Tomisue’s Delight, and many more.
In his 12 year tenure at Shadwell Farms, Kevin Kakhola helped to develop big names such as Mayhomen (multiple Grade 2 winner and 4th in the 2015 Kentucky Derby), Shagaf, Haikal and Almanaar.
