Champion of the Longines Kentucky Oaks (G1), and graduate of the Camden Training Center broken by Kahkola Racing, Malathaat is reportedly being considered by the filly’s owners at Shadwell Stable to travel to Belmont in June for the Triple Crown.
“The 5-2 favorite Malathaat, ridden by John Velazquez, held off Search Results to win the Kentucky Oaks by a neck at Churchill Downs on Friday.
“She completed the mile-and-an-eighth race in 1 minute 48.99 seconds, the sixth-fastest time in Oaks history, and paid $7 on a $2 bet to win
Malathaat is the daughter of Belmont runner-up Curlin, and given her performance at KY Oaks, she is considered to be in a fair position and well prepared for the 1.5 mile race.
Kahkola Racing break and train young horses at Camden Training Center at the 400-acre facility that offers a variety of training options, tracks, and trails for yearlings.
