Stuart M. Grant is an acclaimed attorney, sportsman, investor, and philanthropist who has achieved notable success in numerous pursuits from jurisprudence to thoroughbred horse racing.
Since buying his first racehorse in 2002, Grant has earned a spot as one of the top owners and breeders of thoroughbred race horses in the United States. In 2004, Grant purchased the 360-acre Camden Training Center in South Carolina where many of his top thoroughbreds (racing under his stable name The Elkstone Group) have trained.
Grant has bred many of Camden Training Center’s notable alumni, including Mor Spirit (grade 1), Lady Fog Horn (grade 2) and Edge of Reality (grade 3).
Each year Grant offers University of Delaware students a paid internship at Camden Training Center through funding from Grant’s I Could Do Great Things Foundation. This 10-week opportunity provides a hands-on look at the world of thoroughbred racehorses, and Grant hopes the experience will help nurture the next generation of veterinarians and turf professionals.
